I have an ineligible on my roster that I have in study hall for 80 minutes.  All practice minutes towards study.  He is a first year freshman.  After the first midterm he has a GPA of 1.5.  Will he improve enough to play?  When do they decide to transfer to JUCO?  Just wondering what the chances of this guy playing on my team, eligible, next year is?

That exact thing happened to me, and I freaked out and started searching through the forums to find out what to do.  My guy made grades and it looks like they generally do -- maybe even always do,  even though the first mid-term is a nightmare.  Someone with more experience in this situation might be able to tell you for sure if you're in any danger.  Regardless, you're doing all you can right now.
