Original Rules
(MOFO: Modern-era Original Franchise Organization)
In the wake of the 1994 players strike, the majors contract back down to the original 16 franchises. Each one of them starts fresh, back at square one, through a 28-round inaugural draft (25 roster players, and three rounds of two at a time AAA picks).
With just 16 teams, everyone will be able to field a solid club making for a competitive league.
Here's the basics:
You have to use the real team names, as they're listed above. You play in the real-life ballpark of your franchise.
Inaugural draft is set by random.org and is serpentine.
No salary cap. No Waiver Wire
DH in both leagues.
Real AAA players.
Future drafts are based on w-l record at the 120 game mark with a 30 win floor, and will be straight. You can keep as many or as few of the players on your roster as you want, and players who are out of the sim can be placed on the DL.
Draft to complete 25 man roster is followed by a 3 round, 6 player (max) AAA draft. AAA players can be called up or sent down until the trade deadline, then can be included for the following years keeper list of up to 25 players.
So you basically get to draft up to a 31 man roster, and have 25 on your MLB squad at any time, then keep up to 25 for the following season. AAA draft is a good way to plan for future seasons.
