note to self- don't use 85 McGee

It isn't just McGee, almost all players are underperforming compared to before the update.  Great pitching has gotten cheaper and the recession has intensified the competition (fewer newbs and experimental teams).

My last three '75 Gary Carters have performed poorly too.

My '64 Roseboro still gunning them down though.

I have no problem with 75GC's arm.  The bat just hasn't been the same since the update.

I hope he's broke.

If this is broken, I'll take it (through 123 games of an $80 MM OL).  His BA has come down to .350-ish on average and his OBP runs a little north of .400.  Fewer .400-plus, 150 RBI+ seasons for the reason zubinsum gave, but still the finest #3 hitter and one of the three best ubercookies in the game, along with Addie `08 and Johnny Get Your Gun Roseboro.

So glad you asked.  17 doubles and 28 triples.  Count `em, Miss Amy -- 28.  Course it's Kauffman Stadium, which is +3 for triples, but he could be headed for 40.  48-for-65 SB/SBA (he never had the greatest SB%).  Good glovework -- 13 + plays, one - play, .979 FPCT.  Team looks like it's headed for a WC berth.  Stuck in the division behind a ringer under an assumed name.

In contrast to what I've seen posted in other threads, I believe WIS is pitching-heavy right now.  I'm not necessarily opposed to it, but I see far more pitchers overperforming than I do hitters.  Not a systematic study, just an observation.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to pay anything close to $7.2 million for a guy with OBP and OBP# under .400 OR slugging under .600, much less both.  A guy who costs that much ought to be able to win a few games basically on his own, and that requires the ability to hit some out of the park.

Never used him either...
