200M Franchise Lg w/ Progressive Blacklist (2 IN) Topic

I have run a low salary-cap franchise league before with year restrictions, but I wanted to run a high-salary one and disprove the myth that the Yankees would win every year. To be fair, I think we would have to limit the number of franchises, based on how long they have been in existence. Also there would be a progressive blacklist twist to it, where each year, the top salaried position player and pitcher for that franchise for any year would be blacklisted for the next year. The team that wins the league has its top two salaried position players and pitchers for that franchise blacklisted.

For example, for Yankees, highest WIS salary for batter is 1921 Babe Ruth at $17,817,715 so all Babe Ruth seasons for the Yankees would be blacklisted the next season. The highest pitcher is 1904 Jack Chesbro at $16,949,596, so all Jack Chesbro seasons for the Yankees would be blacklisted the next season. The following season, the next highest batter/pitcher would be blacklisted, regardless of whether that player was on a team or not up to that point.

$200M Salary/No need for AAA/Trades/Waivers with a salary cap that high. There is no live games restriction.

Your park would have to be a park that your franchise played in at some point during their history and I'd love creative team names with your team somehow incorporated.

I am up for your thoughts and/or comments regarding the number of teams to make this fair and on how to do the divisions (randomize/come up with divisions prior)

Right now, these teams are available, with WIS availability:

Atlanta Braves - Would include 1885-1906 Boston Beaneaters, 1907-10 Boston Doves, 1911 Boston Rustlers, 1912-35 Boston Braves, 1936-40 Boston Bees, 1941-52 Boston Braves, 1953-65 Milwaukee Braves, 1966-Present Atlanta Braves

Baltimore Orioles - Would include 1901 Milwaukee Brewers, 1902-1953 St. Louis Browns, 1954-Present Baltimore Orioles

Boston Red Sox - Would include 1901-07 Boston Americans, 1908-Present Boston Red Sox

Chicago Cubs - Would include 1885-89 Chicago White Stockings, 1890-97 Chicago Colts, 1898-1902 Chicago Orphans, 1903-Present Chicago Cubs

Chicago White Sox - Would include 1901-Present Chicago White Sox

Cincinnati Reds - Would include 1885-89 Cincinnati Red Stockings, 1890-Present Cincinnati Reds

Cleveland Indians - Would include 1901-02 Cleveland Blues, 1903-14 Cleveland Naps, 1915-Present Cleveland Indians

Detroit Tigers - Would include 1901-Present Detroit Tigers

Los Angeles Dodgers - Would include 1885-87 Brooklyn Grays, 1888-98 Brooklyn Bridegrooms, 1899-1910 Brooklyn Superbas, 1911-13 Brooklyn Dodgers, 1914-31 Brooklyn Robins, 1932-57 Brooklyn Dodgers, 1958-Present Los Angeles Dodgers

Minnesota Twins - Would include 1901-60 Washington Senators, 1961-Present Minnesota Twins

New York Yankees (TAKEN thebubbaq) - Would include 1901-02 Baltimore Orioles, 1903-12 New York Highlanders, 1913-Present New York Yankees

Oakland Athletics (TAKEN bcoop11) - Would include 1901-54 Philadelphia Athletics, 1955-67 Kansas City Athletics, 1968-Present Oakland Athletics

Philadelphia Phillies - Would include 1885-89 Philadelphia Quakers, 1890-1943 Philadelphia Phillies, 1944-45 Philadelphia Blue Jay's, 1946-Present Philadelphia Phillies

Pittsburgh Pirates - Would include 1885-90 Pittsburgh Alleghenies, 1891-Present Pittsburgh Pirates

San Francisco Giants - Would include 1885-1957 New York Giants, 1958-Present San Francisco Giants

St. Louis Cardinals - Would include 1885-1898 St. Louis Browns, 1899 St. Louis Perfectos, 1900-Present St. Louis Cardinals

That would be 16 teams. If we add any more, the next four would be the early 1960s expansion teams (Astros, Angels, Mets, Rangers) if people would be interested in taking one of those four. Let me know what everyone thinks and if you want in, name your team. The next post will be the owners and the teams. I'm excited to see if we can get this going.
