Allen recruiting: 2nd wave by Sim AI? Topic

Did this happen?  None of my dropdown targets in Allen recruiting were grabbed by Sim AI in the 2nd wave of recruiting.  I can't remember the last time I had so many dropdown targets I was waiting for.  And I also can't remember when none of my dropdown targets weren't "stolen" by a late Sim AI push.

Did I miss something where this 2nd push no longer happens?

It's still there. The 2nd wave sim will never target any player already considering another school.. As far as the rest of your dropdowns, I'd say you lucked out this season. Every now and then, the randomness of sim recruiting skips me too.

I didn't see the second push either.  Wash and ASU are two sims in my conference, and they never had anybody considering them after the opening round.  I did see however, that SIMs in general and from other sources were much harder to knock off this time around.

Did you actually see a 2nd wave, Weena?  Similar to cal bears, I have six Sim AI teams in my conference and none of them has a single recruit right now.  That plus my super-high number of dropdown targets that had none getting swooped up in the 2nd push seemed pretty weird.

If I had to guess, there was indeed a 2nd wave but I didn't see any evidence of it.  But figured I'd ask.

I'm still suspicious that they're starting to put extra effort into their original players.  I know in my last recruiting cycle in Knight I went after a guy that "wasn't a priority" for a sim school who later became tight with them.  Almost didn't get him...

I think this is something that bears tracking. In Allen, I did see many sim ai schools that filled 100% of their openings including schools with 5-6-7+ spots. I also saw schools with that many openings get shut out. I think a lot of it has to do with the trickledown impact of the ACC having so much cash this season. Every school in the ACC got an additional $50+K. That forced other majors and mid-majors to look lower down the list than perhaps they have done in the past. Plus, schools were forced into more battles than normal and therefore the losers in the battles were looking at the last minute which usually doesn't happen either. I don't think WIS would make a  change that major without an announcement so I believe it is just a strange year in recruiting. Like I said though, I think it bears tracking.
