Speed and Athleticism Topic

Does anybody else feel strongly that the athleticism and speed ratings should be bumped up, especially at the lower levels)?

I can't stand to look at players who have single digit speed and athleticism. And it isn't realistic at all.

Wow, we didn't just see this thread...  MOST (certainly not all, but a simple majority) of the older coaches seem fairly certain that Tarek did divulge at some point that ratings are fit within the universe of college basketball players.  I think it's hidden somewhere in one of the older dev chats.  I vaguely remember seeing it at some point.  Regardless, single digit speed and athleticism is not only realistic, it's definitionally necessary that some players be in that range...

Sorry, I haven't been on the forums lately.

Could you explain to me how this is realistic, because I don't think that there are real players that are 50x faster+ than other players in their own division.

Go watch a DIII game in person and ask this question again :)   Guaranteed you'll see one or two guys that are clearly much better/faster/stronger than everyone else and a couple guys that are just slow and uncoordinated and there just to take up space on the bench. Just like Little League baseball

It seems realistic to me

The HD player that has a 100 speed isn't 100x faster than the HD player that has a 1 speed.  Just think of it as a bell curve (which I wish HD thought of it as too)...the 100 is simple at the very highest of the bell curve and the 1 is at the very lowest.  In a random Harvard Econ course, those that fall into the 99th percentile aren't necessarily 99x smarter than those that fall into the 1st percentile, right?  Same thing goes with HD.  The upper 90's are merely the fastest of the fast, where the single digits are merely the slowest of the fast.
