I'm not sure I understand....you're at Syracuse with A+ prestige and you were turned down by an A- school?

I believe the last 4 seasons, justifiably or not,  are the most important consideration. The more recent seasons count more

You have:
season #41   NT 1st round
season #40  PIT 2nd round
season #39  NT champion
season #38  PIT champion

What did the other coach do in the last 4 seasons?

Apparently the hiring logic treats PIT appearances like poison

I was not qualified for Duke the year of application .... I think I was something like the following:

NT rnd 1
NT rnd 2
NT chamption
NT rd 1


They said I wasn't a consistent winner.   Ha ha.

Wise, etc. ... while I agree with your overall point (and certainly agree that wise should've been qualified for the job in question), I think by this point we all now not to take responses literally. It's no different than during recruiting when we know not to listen to any specific comments (except the schollie message). I agree that wise should've been qualified, but we all know that the details of the response are all BS and not really designed to be aligned with the exact reason for not getting the job ... right?

in the old game, I was coaching so mississippi, somehow I was able to recruit a local PF, who was #1 player in the country.  My AD's response - I don't know who he is, but it looks like he could be a player.  So your school's AD doesn't know who the #1 player in the country is.


Wise, I asked tarek several times to change d1' s perf window for new jobs to either 8 or 12 years, using the same sort of system, just making the span longer, and the effect of any one bad year or great year less.

No interest from tarek, maybe seble would be interested.  I am not the right person to send tickets in with ideas with seble, so if anyone thinks it is a good idea, you have my permission / encouragement to submit.

Please guys, do not message me to go after the recruits of other teams that you are battling with. It is not their fault that WIS thought I did not win consistently enough, despite 25 straight post season berths, to go from an A+ school to an A- school. Believe me, that school is much better with a coach who made the post season only 6 of the past 10 seasons. It is not their fault that WIS would like to screw over coaches who have started in season 1 of a world have been paying for over 5+ years. Being in the top 4 of DI wins overall does not matter to them and they do not care of they gang rape your squad after you won the NT just 3 seasons ago with EE that decimated your program and yet you still made the post season.

Confusing post of the year award?  What's up with that first sentence or 2?  I've read it at least 10 times now and I still don't know what he's talking about...

You're not hurting WIS by doing that. Not in the slightest. You're screwing your conference mates by leaving the team in shambles.

I understand that you were upset with the hiring logic, but to go out like such a classless punk makes you 10x worse than WIS could ever be.

Well said Daalt.   Let's just hope his little temper tantrum doesn't cost a conference mate a spot in the tourny because of a weak RPI.

You can't really be serious. Do you think I know what's going on at all worlds at all times? This one was publicized and I became aware of it, so I commented. I'm sure there are other people acting like assholes under the radar. But that doesn't mean that this ******* shouldn't get called out.

Why didn't you start one, or report it to WIS.

If a guy does not recruit for one season, or abandons a team ,,, that is one thing.  People have emergencies, decide to stop playing, etc.

If he cuts his best players, Red Shirt's one of the upper classmen he can't cut to drop his WE to 1, and purposely sabotages the team, he should be banned.

If the guy did that to Maryland, someone should have reported it to WIS.

This kind of thing does not just impact one person and is wrong for someone to do.  It hurts the entire conference and the guy who gets the team next.  It is bull$hit and there is no excuse for it.

So if someone breaks into a house, beats up an old lady and I criticize him for it, am I being the 'Morality police' because I didn't similarly criticize a similar incident that happened in Bangladesh that I never heard of?  Believe it or not I don't go scanning over every single team in every single conference in every single division in every single world every single year.  I know thats unbelievable, but there it is.

The Maryland coach did recruit. He just started a couple of cycles late, entered multiple battles at distance disadvantages, and got crushed.
