Qualifying for DI Topic

I was wondering what a typical resume(amount of wins, conf champs, national champs) looks like for a coach to eventually make that jump from DII to DI. Any thoughts?

That varies widely.

You can usually qualify for low-level D1 with a couple of decent-but-not-great seasons.

For example, take a look at my Wooden resume.  I am qualified for low Big 6 jobs right now and all mid-majors.

Yeah, brian, that is ridiculous.  Hope you don't have a meltodown over the 4-year rule!

Define Decent?  Surely you qualify for a beaten down MAC school or even a low sim Mtn West team.  That isn't bad.

I want an c+ baseline job.  I even applied a season after I won my last title.

hmm, id think you would be able to get it after winning those 2 titles. surprising you couldnt - were you not qualified or just got beaten out by someone else? do you not have many wins on that account? it seems baseline prestige is not a major factor in what you qualify for, at least not compared to current prestige (or as seble puts it, technically jobs are not based directly on current prestige, rather recent performance of the school, i.e., current prestige). when elites (a+ baseline) were down i was usually qualified for them on my d2 account and was qualified for all big 6 school up to a B+ for a while so i would think a down c+ baseline would be well within reach with your resume at the time.

I got beat out on 2 jobs and the other 2 it said I wasnt qualified.  I swear the current season weighs the most if I had to guess 90 %

There is no set rule.  Different schools have different things that they look at.  Some may think experience is more important, others may weigh the last season more importantly.

4 seasons experience in d2 and back to back NT appearances should have you qualified for low d1 jobs.
