If were to lower either college or high school scouting budget quit a bit and keep the other very high-which is it smarter to give the higher budget?  Are there more college or high school prospects and is the quality the same?  Obviously, the college players can progress faster to the majors but other than that are there any differences.

From other peoples information, the ratio of college players to HS players is 2:1.

I depends on what your strategy is diryn. Some(like myself) prefer to draft younger, others prefer college aged players. In my experience college age players tend to be ready for the bigs sooner.Younger players also have more time to develop as by the time a player reaches 24 their development slows down,but like I said college players are usually more developed to start with. Its all personal preference. I am not the most experienced player in HBD so you may wish to see what others are saying too.But I think that is fairly accurate.

i go 20 college...0 high school...i would rather have the players develop...be ready for the bigs sooner...plus there seems to be more college players than high school...

I would also suggest you look at where the other teams are spending their money. If they are predominately one side or the other you might consider going the other way.

I'd suggest that although there are more college players, a higher percent of HS players (of all HS prospects) are drafted in the first few rounds. And maybe even a higher percentage of HS (to college) prospects are drafted with the first few picks.

Those same people come to the forums and say "None of my guys ever reach their projections.  What am I doing wrong?"
