30 ath for 30 spd? Topic

What would you value more for a guard, 30 ath or 30 spd? So in theory 60/60 guard or 30/90 guard?

PG - I'd want 30a/90sp.  SG - I'd probably want the 60/60 guy, all else being equal.

What does ath actually do in the engine. Is it a multiplier for other stats?

30/90

For all but a couple of teams each season, I want the 60/60 guys. The problem is, eventually I will face one of the few teams that overwhelms my team with G speed. I think my solution is to shoot for 5-6 Gs with a mix of 60/60 and 40/80 (or 30/90 if I can get them). I'm not exactly sure what ATH does in the engine. All I know is that my team plays well when I have lots of ATH.

I'd like to know this as well.

Both

I'd probably prefer the 30/90 in any system unless I had a lot of team speed and a real weakness in athleticism.

press: 30/90, any other def: 60/60

don't see how it can be any other way.

As some people probably figured out, this wasn't a hypothetical but linked to 2 players I'm deciding. I signed the 30/90 but was struggling between the 2 players.

Here is player 1: 69.7% ft, 48 WE, 2.08 gpa

Player one is more like 60/70 while Player 2 is 30/90, maybe 30/100. I went with 2 due to the high in low post, high in defense, and higher passing which I like in the motion offense. My team also runs FCP so I slightly overweighed spd in this case. I would have signed both guys but having only 1 scholarship kind of put a kink into things.

With the new engine, the high DE would have pushed me to #2.

I woulda picked # 1 for a backup sf.  #2 wil lbe good with a r/s.  Tough choice.  It really depends on your team needs and how youve set them up.

Well, #2 is the better player easily with all things considered. High defense, plus he is already decent enough to play somewhere even if he doesnt come close to that perim, depending on if it was l-high or h-high. but i agree with brip, I'd definitely RS the second kid if I got him. At least make sure he plays enough to gain like he should.

I like them both.  I see player 1 more as a SF.  I would use player 2 at PG or SG with a r/s.   Would definately target #2 first.
