Arbitration, ML season 4 Topic

Is it still safe to arb a player with 4 years of ML experience and then sign him to a long-term deal in his ML-seasons-5 year? I know it always has been, but it seems like you can't trust them to not change things these days. Anyone had a season 5 guy that refused to sign the long-term deal?

Not that i recall, and the last guy i checked it on, i beat in ARB(4) and cost him 2 or 3M based on his asking price, but that no guarantee.

I'm pretty sure if you offer him his arb demands the first 2 times, they'll always be willing to sign a LTC contract heading into Arb3.
