I have a 22 yo who is killing it at AAA (2.21 ERA about half way through the season).  Other than starting his clock a little sooner is there a downside to promoting him?  I am about 5 games under .500 so he probably wont make s difference playoff wise, but he seems to have little more to learn at AAA.  I would throw him into the rotation and keep him there pretty much no matter what if I promote him.

If he is going to get the same playing time in the ML would that be an arguement to promote him since my ML coaches are superior to my AAA coaches?

Yes, but like Mike said, you should ignore minor league stats.  A key to success in this game is learning to interpret the ratings.  Can you post a link of the player?

If you don't mind starting his arb/FA clock early in a non-playoff hlep situation, yes, it is an argument to promote him now.

Most veterans owners, myself included, probably wouldn't do it if we had viable options already in the bigs.

He's in his 4th season.   No big deal, as far as arb/FA goes, to promote him.

I'd promote him, since he's about as ML ready as he's going to be.

On the player card, you'll see a little WifS symbol on the bottom left.   Click it.   Then come to the forums and click the same symbol in the middle left of the tool bar in post reply.

While no world beater, he certainly seems to be ML material. He should have been in the ML all year, especially if you aren't a contender.
