How does player rest work?

Does it benefit me to continue to rest a guy an additional game or 2 after he has rebounded to 100% from getting a couple days off?

With the additional rest will he stay at 100% longer than if I just inserted him back into the line-up immediately after he reached 100%?

WifS says "No, 100% is 100%."   I don't buy that.

I think it's clear that if a position player is back to 100% and plays 1 game later, he's quickly going to drop below 100%.  If he rests for a week, it would take him longer to get below 100%.

IIRC, 100%=100% comment from admin is in regards to pitching.

How much does it benefit a player to rest him even if he is still at 100%?

Essentially I'm asking if I should rest a player that is at 100% when I'm 45-50 games into the season.

You've probably played enough to know, roughly, how many games a player can play at 100%.    For instance, a 70 DUR is going to give you around 520 PA at 100%.   So, just roughly, he's going to give you 130 games or so.   You know you can't play him for 130 straight at 100%.   So, for a guy like that, he needs a day off every HBD week(more or less).   If you want to keep him at 100%, you play him 6 out of 7 games all season long.

sounds good...I rested this guy for an additional 3 games after he returned to 100% and when I returned him to the line-up he dropped down to 98% after 4-5 games.

Yeah, that sounds about right.   It took him a long time to drop below 100%.   He's not going to stay there after a few days off.
