so given the possession indicators, TOs, rbds, even FTAs how was it possible for my opponent to take 11 more shots?

2 more offensive rebounds + 3 fewer turnovers + 2 fewer FTAs (i.e., 1 possession) = 6 possessions.  There is not enough information to figure out where the other 5 extra FGAs came from.  

One source of extra possessions is that maybe you had more 3-point play attempts, thus making the FTA difference greater than just one possession.  Another source is that your opponent took the last shot during each quarter, thus leaving you with 4 unused possessions.
