Kingman and the 1976 1st-round pick were traded in a deal landing Rick Monday, Dick Allen, Craig Reynolds, & an extra 4th-round pick.

It was a responsible trade (zero vetoes by the league), so it wasn't a "trade a pick for for talent now, then bail" type of trade.
