He's only got one season of even stretching to play SS left in him--and the bat is not very good at any other position. Look at his OPS in the last 3 seasons, when you've been (smartly) platooning him; it's about .730. I guess that plays with his glove at 2B or 3B; what kind of contract do you want to commit to a (wrong-side) platoon 3B who's glove-heavy and bat-light?
One season contract, only. If he wants more, let him hit the market.
