Many of us Gridiron Dynasty coaches are getting fed up with SIM teams of much lower ratings beating our teams. Does this happen in HD? Do HD games play pretty true to what you would expect from the two teams ratings numbers?

Well, I am pretty new to the game, but in HD overall ratings are really misleading. However, it seems that a sim team with a similar caliber set of players is always going to be worse than a player controlled team with similar players.

I find more upsets in HD than I did in the old GD, but it usually evens out by the end of the season.  It'll happen once in a while, but not as much as the new GD.

Overall ratings mean nothing, turtis.  It's core ratings that matter, especially at lower levels.  I.E. a SG with terrible PER and SPD but a high overall due to a ridiculously high DUR rating and maybe a ridiculously high BLK rating is going to mean nothing when compared to a SG with a much lower overall rating that has much higher SPD/PER.

And you'll find there will be the occasional upset, but they're really not as common as in the new GD.

I play both and over the last 3 seasons I've played I've experienced basically the same amount of upsets in each. They're rare in both but do happen.

I found that the GD had more upsets after the new engine was installed. I like HD MUCH better. I dropped my Vanderbilt team in GD and am picking up a 3rd team in HD. I rarely get beaten by a SIM team in HD.

HD is a WAY better game than GD is right now.

Upsets can happen based on gameplanning and off shooting nights, but you know the SIM will always be starting the first half at normal tempo and a 0 defense and taht can definitely help. The Sim teams you need to watch out for in HD are the ones that have "superclasses" (6+ players in their senior year, with several juniors as well...) as those are the SIM's that can really wreck your night and sometimes pull off multiple NT wins.

Rest assured though, you're in a way better environment here than what's flaring on the GD side of things right now.

In my experience, you really only have to worry about sims if you have a young team with low IQs.  Sims that have players recruited by a human coach that had good success can be tough as well.  But if you are playing a team that has been a sim for awhile and you are clearly better on paper, you should not lose, IMO.

Beware of supersims, like a sim team with 10 SRs or 6 SR 6 JRs. Those teams are generally pretty good and can give you a beating.
