When a trade occurs, do the players keep their stats?  I realize that on the waiver wire, a player's stats are cleared when he enters a different league. But because in a trade the player remains in the same league, does he keep his stats?

I don't see trades besides AAA players being moved.  Do trades happen very often involving actual players that are not AAA?

I don't play in many leagues that allow trading, but my recollection is that the only way you can see a player's previous stats is to look at the previous team page.  And outside of specific themes that encourage that sort of thing, you don't see  many non-AAA trades

I recently traded two AAA guys for `07 Gomez (who is worth 200k) and 200k in cash. Gomez's stats were wiped clean when he came to my team and the only way I could see his stats before the trade, like pinotfan said, was to go to the other team's state page and look him up.

Your two AAA were worth far more than what you received in return. AAA players are based on real life players.

Yeah, that's a horrible deal.  I don't think I've ever voted against a trade in all my time at WIS, but I'd vote against that.  You should read this thread:

The players you traded could be worth 3-5M combined.  And you got 400K in return.

Oh I know. I've seen the key for looking up my guys in the draft center and by that point in the season (a week from the trade deadline) I really needed a salary dump, instead of 2 guy eating payroll stuck in the minors for a quarter of the season. I used the extra $400k plus the $200k from dumping Gomez to upgrade a weak and gassed bullpen down the strech. I personally loved the deal, haha. The 2 AAA guys I traded had a combined 50 PA's or so and weren't worth anything to me at that point. And the cash was more important than 2 guys I wouldn't be able to use anyway.
