Confused recruit Topic

I'm curious about where I stand with a recruit...I made a few different recruiting stabs at him and these are the responses I get...

From a CV:
"Coach, your school seems like the perfect fit for me. I had a fantastic time this weekend on campus. I can't imagine how my campus visits to other schools can compare with it."

From a HV:
"Coach, thanks for offering to visit with me, but it just isn't going to work out right now. Sorry."

From a Scholly offer:
"It would be a dream to play for you, I don't know why they make me wait to sign, but I guess that's what I have to do.

From a Phone Call:
"Hey Coach. Sorry I didn't take your call - I've been really busy lately. From what I know of the program, it may be something I'd be interested in, but I'd really like to learn a lot more about the school, conference and your coaching philosophy."

From Guaranteed Minutes:
"Hey coach, if I gave you the wrong idea about my interest then I apologize man. Just seems odd that you're talking about playing time when I'm not sold on the program yet."

My responses to SV's have been increasingly positive, ranging from the backup option, to the head coach being appreciative, to giving my assistant coach a smile after a thumbs up...

Where the heck do I stand with this guy?

Scholarship offer response is the only one that matters.

It depends on the timing of the responses. It looks like you were in the lead with the scholarship offer, but someone jumped on him and now you aren't.

It seems to me that some recruit messages are also influenced by what other schools are doing to recruit them.  A guy may be lukewarm on rival school B today, but if School B puts some more money into him, the message will be different tomorrow.

True statement?

Strangely enough, the scholly response came with the HV response...in the same recruiting cycle. I'm now showing up as being considered now.

It seems to me sometimes the messages generated for certain actions within a cycle are spit out before the full weight of other simultaneous actions are factored in.

For instance, a recent cycle I got the "straight up like apole-vaulter" response to a phone call, but I also had Evals, a home visit and a minutes promise that cycle, which generated a very elated message by the time we got to the minutes promise. As was said, the response to the scholarship is the one that truly matters. You can sometimes glean how close you are to getting considered from some of the others, but the scholarship response tells the true "current feelings" of the recruit for the cycle.
