This is a hoops variation of a league in ran in the Hockey sim about 5-6 years ago.. a league that was succesful enough to spawn at least 3 sequels and a progressive league.

The Rules:

BASICS- 50 mil cap, no rookies, no draft pick trading, 12 round timed draft format

The Gist of it

The draft will run in chronological order starting with 1967/1968 season. The first year of the ABA. The first owner will select a player of their choosing from 1967/1968 and they must play that season of that player - there is NO TWISTING. That player is then removed from the draft pool for all subsequent owners.

This brings a real screw your neighbor style to this draft.. in addition to trying to draft a good team for yourself you get to play keep away from the other owners. For example, someone could draft Kobe in his rookie year to keep an owner a few picks later from nabbing a super Kobe for their squad.

You can see the draft boards below. The years from from 1967/1968 to 2009/2010 and then start over at 1967/1968. This means you will end up with an assortment of players on your team from different eras. Do you want to blow cap space on a player from the 60's? Or holdout and hope you can get a 90s star in a later round? A first round pick in this draft could very well be a backup point guard on your final squad.

If you choose to sign-up, pick a draft time that works well for you. There really is not much advantage to being in any particular draft postion in each round so I would like everyone just to pick a time they are available to draft. Though, it should be noted that missing a pick in this draft is not as huge a deal as it is in some of the others with smaller player pools.
