How do you approach transfers? Topic

Couple of questions on philosophy of recruiting, here:

Do you do anything special when you target 1-or-2 year players to determine their IQs related to the system you're running?  The reason I ask is because, in my experience, it's rare for a 4-year recruit to get higher than a B IQ in anything before the middle or later part of their 2nd year in my system (Man/Motion).   (I may be recruiting idiots, so there's always that possibility).

If I think a kid can help me, I rarely ever worry about his pre-existing IQs.  An "F" certainly won't stop me from recruiting him if he has 3 or 4 years of eligibility and his cores/potentials are what I want.  But I'm reluctant to take that approach with junior or senior transfers.

Do you pay more attention to IQ with 2-year players or do you just look at their cores?

Generally, I won't take a junior or senior transfer who doesn't know my offense/defense.  But, if he knows my defense, and I'm mainly recruiting him as a defensive backup, then I wouldn't worry about the offense IQ
