National Tourney-in or out? Topic

Ok, so heading into the Conference Tournament with my team in Tark I stand with a 20-6 record 84 RPI 147 SOS. I find this to be a little odd in that I have 7 wins against opponents in top 100 RPI, with 3 of those opponents cracking the top 30, and 1 of those teams is the #1 team in the country and #1 RPI. My conference sits 16 out of 23 in RPI so I am sure that does not help me. Is there any shot in hell I make the NT, without winning the CT? and is this simply a case of me being blinded at the fact that my wins are really not that significant to deserve a better RPI?

1.) Too many home games. Eight of your non-conference games were at home. You get a substantial RPI bonus for winning games on the road, such that a road win is worth more than twice as much as a home win against the same opponent.

2.) You have played seven games against teams with a 6-20 record or worse. That has really dragged down your SOS and RPI.

I'll answer those in order:

1. I don't think so. Your first game will only hurt you. Assuming W Virginia St wins their game (against another dreck RPI, probably hurting them a bit in the process) beating them will only give you a slight bump (IMHO) and probably not enough to get over the bubble.
2. Yes - your conference overall is so poor those wins aren't enough.

Zero chance. I've never seen any at-large with an rpi below 70

I got an at-large with a 61 RPI, I was a 16 seed.  With an RPI of 84 you probably have no shot.
