I'm recruiting in D2 (C+ prestige), and I have 5 open slots. It's pre-signings, and there are two guys I'm interested in, both 150 mi away. Both guys are currently considering other human D2 teams. Which battle would be easier to win:

1) against a school that's B- prestige, 940 mi away, also 5 slots, 5 currently considering.
2) against a school that's C- prestige, 580 mi away, also 5 slots, 1 currently considering.

The one that doesn't involve you going head-to-head against my team is DEFINITELY the easier one ;) 

I'd rather battle #1.   He's already spent more money to get 5 recruits to consider him. Plus, he's further away.   I don't think the prestige difference is very significant and you have a good chance of winning this battle.  It's likely that, once you show up on the considering list, he'll look elsewhere

even though the distances aren't close the $ to recruit cost only about 3% more at 940 than they do at 580.
everything else equal, 940 B- is tougher than 580 C-

but either way you have a huge distance advantage which more than makes up for any prestige disadvantages.

For the school with 5 considering, are any of those also being contested by other schools.  ie..  is that coach already in any battles?

Yep, that coach is in 2 battles already.

Go with the first guy would be my advice. He seems to have alot less cash.

Don't worry rednu, after I visit their house, their parents can't wait to send them to UMSL. :)
