What is home/road win adjustment in RPI? Topic

I asked this in another thread, but just in case it gets missed. . .

So, is the adjustment (as it says in the Player's Guide) 0.6 for home and 1.4 for road?

Or is it something else?  I vaguely recall that it was changed to 0.8 for home and 1.2 for road (and the Player's Guide was not changed to reflect this).  Maybe, I recall incorrectly.  Who has the answer?

I can't say with certainty that it wasn't changed, but I don't know why it would have been.  .6 and 1.4 are still the real life numbers.

It was .8 and 1.2 for a long time - about a year ago it was changed to .6 and 1.4 to match the real numbers.

  • Beginning with this season in worlds 2, 3, 6 and 9, we will be using a new RPI formula which has two changes - the home/road bonus weights have been changed from 1.2 to 1.4 and .8 to .6 to match the NCAA. Also, the home/road bonus weights are only applied to part I of the formula, not parts II and III.

The new RPI formula will be used in all other worlds beginning with their next respective season.

Thanks, guys.  Weena, I take it that Part I, II, and III referenced here are WP, OWP, and OOWP respectively?

yes

i.e. there is no longer a difference between WIS RPI and real life RPI
