Do the stats of the regular season have any bearing on the postseason?  Or does the SIM not care about past performances?

For example, I had an underachieving 1987 Jack McDowell on my team this season (1.85 WHIP, .267 OAV, 8.31 ERA, 5.68 ERC).  I know that every once in a while that happens, and fortunately the rest of my bullpen was strong enough to propel me to the playoffs.

If I start Jack, will he pitch based on his "RL" stats or the stats he accumulated in my season?  The World Series is tied at 2-2 and I'd like to win it this year.

His regular season performance for you has no impact whatsoever.

Thanks!  That's a huge boost because my 2000 Pedro gives up a bit too many HR to use against this team.  He pitched Game 2 and gave up 3 HR in 5 IP.  I can set McDowell to pitch Game 6 at Miller Park and hopefully Milacki will be back to 100% after pitching Game 3.

That's the book answer.  But when you have a stud 70's Joe Morgan and he goes 5-80 over a 20 game span, did you just get a random game after game bad performance...or is there some built in "bum occurance" factor?  I had a '08 Rich Harden I used to use as a closer.  Did great for me three seasons in a row.  Then I got one that went 1-11 and blew two divisional playoff games for me.  Dumb luck??  I know the SIM is supposed to see each at bat, each pitch without emotion or past performance, but sometimes it's hard to believe.
