After my 5th game (3rd win a row at home) my grade went from C to C+.  Fine, the next game I lose a away game to the number 2 ranked team and my grade went back down to a C.   Can anyone explain to me 1) Why would that even happen? 2) What is the signifigance of the rating in this game..and how does it manifest itself in actual game play?  Thanks
My team is Hawaii Pacific in Knight...

I don't think it plays much of a role in games being played. One explanation is that you were coming off a 3 game winning streak so the fan base (students/alumni, etc) were excited about the team, and then after the loss they went back down to a C level, becuase you are 3-3 instead of over .500.

HCA doesn't mean much at the DIII and DII levels. It does have significance at DI however. HCA is based on overall record, not just home wins, so road losses still have an impact.
