Signing slow 1st Round picks Topic

I had three 1st round picks, #23, 28, 43.

The #28 guy (Who I had as #6 on my board) signed right away.

The #23 guy (who I had at #3) is considering a football scholarship.  Slot money was $1.9M, I've upped the offer to $3.2M.  Rookie Ball has started and still no response from him?  Can I speed up the process?  Does more money make a difference?

The #43 guy (who I had in my top 12) is considering returning to college, evidently.  He said that if he wasn't drafted in the 1st round he would consider doing so...but he was drafted in Rd. 1.  slot $ was $600,000.  I've upped the offer to a bit over $900,000.  Same question as above....

Never raise your offer. It doesn't make them sign quicker, and you could end up paying more than you need to pay. Just wait them out. They'll either (a) sign for their original demand, (b) come back with a followup demand that they will sign for, or (c) decline.

I thought this was about John Rocker.

If you do F'up and offer more money prior to hearing 2nd/revised demands, can you go back and edit your offer to original demand and not lose the potential comp pick?

Obviously, only applicable to the true first round pick, not compensatory picks.

yes, as long as your offer matches their demands.

Remember, you only have to match the original demands, not the revised demands.
