So this might be a dumb/easy question, but if there are several teams with Type D picks ahead of me in the draft, and it pushes me from the 15th to 18th pick, does that still mean I will lose my pick if I sign a Type A FA?  Or do Type D's not count since draft orders are based on how we finished last season?

The Type D's do not count. If you started the season with waiver wire priority of 16 or below, your 1st round pick is safe.

To clarify, if your waiver priority is from 1-16, your 1st round pick is safe.
