I'm sure some think this isn't a big deal and I'll have tough time making an argument for it because I'm not a "MAINTAIN YOUR MINORS!!!!" guy. Nonetheless, I think good owners do maintain their minors but I do understand how it can get out of control.
The minors are there to develop prospects. It's only natural to assume you acquire players who you hope will one day be on your BL team. Therefore, it would only make sense that you're acquiring them because they work in your home park at the BL level. There is about zero sense in having a pitcher's park in the bigs and a +4 all around park in AA. While minor league results are virtually meaningless, the owner skimping on D at the BL level because he's -2 in his home park will get destroyed in a +4 minor league park if he's acquiring players for his BL park. And his pitching staff will get destroyed. Then someone will scream "BILLYBOB IS USING 0(0) PITCHERS IN AA!!! DON'T WE HAVE A MAINTAIN YOUR MINORS RULE?!?!?!?"
So, while I don't expect WifS to allow us to pick our minor league parks, wouldn't it make sense if they were no more than +/- 1 from the BL park?
