Who to draft #1 over all? Topic

I took over a team with the #1 pick in the draft.  Seeing that I just took over I only have 14mill in Col and HS. So i am not sure how good of a look I am getting at these players.

There is not one top line SP in my system. But the team is far away from being ready. I almost think I should take the best player I can.

This is who I am looking at.

OV     R    G    AR    AC    DU    HE    SP    MU     CON     PW     L      R     EY     BR

                                       OV    DR      HEL      MU      ST      CON      L       R      SP    GB         1       2       3     4      5
SP  Russ Wright          65     27        59         91       74        68        48     63     75      75        78    70    35    33    33
         19YO COL FR    89     29        69          98      97        99        69      91     89      81        96    84    50    50    50

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks

Other owners can't see projected draft ratings in the links. That aside, as far as i am concerned always take the best player available. Doing anything else is counter productive. You can't have too much pitching, and players changing position isn't a factor, so there is no reason not to take the best player available.

pitching wins championships.

If the CF is a left handed thrower, then options for changing position for him are limited.

Damn it Tec, you picked the one situation where it matters, but my point was more, that the position isn't locked, and doesn't need to be "learned"  so to move a 3B to 1B and in all likelyhodd you have an instant GG 1B.

Agreed.  When I'm drafting position players, I'm looking at where I'd be willing to play them based on their defensive projections rather than their listed position, and ranking them accordingly.
