Does anyone know what HS FT% correlates to as far as letter grade? And how much to expect as far as improvement if a recruit is average or high? I have a pretty good grasp on all the potentials and what to expect with everything else, but have never seen anything with free throw shooting. Does anyone have a guide or at least an idea?

Iguana1's BBIQ Practice Minute Chart: These are the ranges
I've found based on the 4 seasons since the iq grading has
changed.
The number on the left assumes a "fast" learner. WE of 80 and
GPA over 3.2. The number on the right is for a slower learner.
WE around 40, GPA under 2.5.
Of course there are extreme cases on both ends. I had a player
with a WE of 11 that took about 20% longer than the second
number.

  • F > D- 50-75
    D- > D 50-75
    D > D+ 50-75
    D+ > C- 50-75 total F > C- 200-300

  • C- > C 100-150
    C > C+ 100-150
    C+ > B- 120-200 total C- > B- 320-500 total F > B- 520-800

  • B- > B 290-400
    B > B+ 290-400 total B- > B+ 580-800 total F > B+ 1100-1600

  • B+ > A- 375-500
    A- > A 575-775
    A > A+ 450-625 total B+ > A+ 1400-1900 total F > A+ 2500-3500

  • porkpower's Recruit FT Chart:

    • A+ 88.0% - 92.9% HS FT%
      A 83.8% - 86.8%
      A- 80.8% - 83.9%

    • B+ 77.9% - 82.1%
      B 74.6% - 77.7%
      B- 71.4% - 74.7%

    • C+ 68.3% - 72.0%
      C 65.3% - 68.7%
      C- 62.3% - 66.0%

    • D+ 59.2% - 63.3%
      D 56.8% - 59.8%
      D- 53.3% - 56.6%
      F 51.0% - 53.3%

Can someone explain that chart to me. Because every time I look at it, I just get more confused.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me of the other half of my question, oconnut. What about potentials?

this was an estimation (from a few years ago) of the amount of practice minutes needed to improve Off/Def IQ

this would be a revised chart showing the improvement minutes needed to move from grade to grade.
The range assumes a "quick-learner" improves with about 15% less time than an average player and the "slow-learner" may take 35+% more practice time.

       avg min     range
F > D-            20        10-25
D- > D           60        40-80
D > D+           60        40-80
D+ > C-           60        40-80
C- > C         120      100-180
C > C+         120      100-180
C+ > B-         160      120-220
B- > B         320     260-460
B > B+         320       260-460
B+ > A-         410       340-560
A- > A         650     550-880
A > A+         500     420-680
