Logically, one would think that an occasional HBP could lead to an injury (think, Tony Conigliaro).

My extremely brief research in a couple of my worlds for career HBP leaders does not seem to find any excessive trips to the DL.  I'm wondering if there is any correlation within the game engine for HBP and injuries.

Anybody ever seen one, i.e. a HBP that resulted in an injury?

Nope.  Nor do I recall any baserunning injuries.     A batter flies out and gets hurt.   A fielder gets hurt on a ball hit to him.   A pitcher gets hurt falling off the bullpen bench.

Actually, this came to my forethought not too long ago when my DH got cranked in the head by a pitch, and ended up of first.

I thought "what is this, hockey?" Baseball, the reality is that he'd be on the DL along with the pitcher that got a blister and the SS that stubbed his toe.

I actually mentioned that in TC to someone today.  Pujols hurt his wrist.  Why was he rolling around on the ground while ignoring the ball that was rolling around?  It wasnt' a broken leg.  Man up, get up and pick up the ball.

What did you mean by baserunning injuries?  Did you mean specifically SB attempts?

I've seen guys hit a double and get injured on the same play.  This one from this morning is also funny.  Guy was standing on 3rd, teammate flew out, man on third gets injured:

Happens in the 1st inning to Mexico City.

Pretty sure you're not running when you get hit by a pitch.
It would add value to the game if we could see that every now and then, though.

"Johnson, rounding first on his way to 2nd...AND GETS CRANKED BY THE STARTER!!!!!
HE DIDN'T SEE THAT ONE COMING!!!!"

If anything, lack of risk of injury via HBP allows for extremely low temper ratings to be seen as "free OBP" points.

You are failing to separate the different points of discussion in this thread.

But that would be a fun addition to the sim.

DIAH misses a lot of points about a lot of things.  It's his "thing".

What do you mean by that?

How about the infamous "non-baseball injury". I had a guy on my bench get hurt in the middle of a game. What happened... choke on a hot dog?

I had a guy get hit in the knee, and went out with an injury to a finger.
