Aside from the poor judgment in taking them in the first place, which is a better option - cut them at the end of the year and take a rep hit or ride 'em out as benchwarmers for the next four years?

FWIW, I took over a basket case D2 team, RPI in the mid200s consistently, D+ prestige....

You can't use 12 players anyway. I'd cut Kulp for sure.  Brooks might be useful if you can get his ATH and DEFup . But you could cut him, too. Never would I keep two losers.
