My league just turned over, and I'm afraid I made a mistake.  I had two backend starters who were arb eligible, and I only wanted to keep one.  Now one is asking for $3 MM more in arb than the other one. They're almost identical.  Can I release that player before the arbitration hearings?  Or am I stuck now with both of them?

When I go to "Edit Rosters" it say "You may not perform any rosters moves until the season has begun".   Does that mean the regular season? 

Release him before arb.   You can't do anything because your world isn't full or approved.  You have to wait for a schedule.

You may want to see if you can get something in trade for him first.

You can release him once budgets are set.
