Big Upside in the Player Thoughts email Topic

I always took this to mean that they had 20 points of improvement, minimum, just like high potential, but in the player thoughts email I just got, my assistant coach told me one of my guys had big upside when he already has 81 points in that category.  He did not improved in that category in the first practice.  Any explanations?  Is the "big upside" message 19+ points or is this guy's cap on defense 101?

pretty sure big upside is 19+

every once in a while you'll recruit a guy with average potential but big upside in the email

yeah - despite CS claims to the contrary - player thoughts email and recruiting are not the same. they are off by a point. player thoughts is a point lower.

are the always off by a point or is a different cutoff level or is it variation from changes in the interim followed by rounding or truncation???????

does it matter:?  dont answer that!

not sure the mechanism, but the player thought high potential message is definitely 1 pt off the FSS/eval high potential mark.

Sorry, but I'm answering it.  I don't think it matters.  I'm not going to set my practice plan differently for 18 points of potential improvement than I am for 22 points 99.8% of the time (or so).  It means there is still at least a very solid amount of growth yet.  And that's enough information for me the vast majority of the time.

it actually helps by decreasing the spread of average, which, at 7-19 is way to big compared to the others anyway...
