Pitching splits vs control and pitches Topic

RP A (RH), Control: 92, 64/68 splits, P1: 82 P2: 77
RP B (LH), Control: 79, 91/79 splits, P1:77 P2: 72

Besides LH and RH, both same age, contract length and other ratings (dur, sta, etc)

So... who you accept a trade for?

All else equal  - RP B should be better

Is it possible that both of these pitchers throwing to a high pitch call rated catcher could result in RP A being better?

Dedelman or someone can probably answer this more definitively than I could . . . but I don't think so. The splits on the LHP are substantially better and that will have the greatest impact on opponents avg - in my experience.

I like B, but it's close; the LHP will have a modest disadvantage given the higher number of RHBs.

I like the added control of RP A -- hate giving up walks, but it might depend on your home ballpark which one you choose?  Are all other factors -- velocity / fb/gb really the same?  These would likely make the difference to me. When considering these, the quality of your own defense comes into play (ie velocity not as important if you have a bunchof 80+ gloves on the infield)

Trade them both asap.  In a package deal.

Thanks for the advice. I went with B. (I was trading for one of them, not trading them out of town. But give me time, I'll deal him away anyway)...
