OK so I know this guy has some flaws but he seems to have pretty good ratings where it counts, however, he is just not performing up to expectations. This is DI but I would not expect his FG% to ne under 30% and 3pt% to be under 20%.  I have had his distro everywhere from 15 to 2 (where it is now) and he has been horrible. His assists are not even that high. I know my team around him as young and still developing but I was counting on him to play a bigger roll than he seems capable of playing.

Anyone have any insight as to what my be going on. Should I up his distro and just hope that he improves. I know I have a small sample so far but for bassicly the same number of shots last season he was much better. granted he came off the bench and that might be the difference, but this seems very strange.

Suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated.

he's a decent FT shooter and should not be shooting many 3's at all with a 60 PER rating.  I'd up his distro and put him at -2 and hope he gets to the line where he can be a more effective scorer

He is actually hitting 41% of his 2-point shots. I would drop his 3-point shooting to -1 or even -2 and bring his distro up to around 6-8.  A 60 Per rating in DI is not that good but I think he will get back to averaging around 7-8 ppg. He will up his assists as your younger players IQs improve.

I agree. 60per isn't that great at D1. However, with his ATH/SPD, BH, and FT ratings he could be a pretty efficient scorer for you driving to the basket and getting contact. Set him at -2 and you should see some improvement.

he is not ath or spd enough to get his own shots very well, and when he does his per is not high enough to hit them. you have him at PG meaning he has the ball and is the distributor, so he has no way to get open off the ball predominantly. Lower his 3 pt setting to -1 or even -2. I can see him playing the point, but don't expect him to find open jump shots. At -1/-2 he can have a fair chunk of distro. His bh and ath/spd shld work to give you pretty good FG% inside, and as mentioned above he's a pretty good free throw shooter. If you use all 100 for distro, I'd set him at about 12 and see how he does. Obviously if you matchup against a team with a super defender at PG, switch the distro up...

poor coaching, obviously.  I'd cut about half of your Ft. Valley team, too, while you're at it.   As a dear conference mate, I'll be glad to offer specific advice.

pajama, at this point the two issues are sample size and (as everyone else has mentioned) taking too many 3pters for a guy with low pe.

You gave him solid distro for two games, he shot poorly, and you yanked distro. He hasn't shot well in the ensuing games, but the sample size is so small that his results are inconsequential. I'd up his distro (not to the level of when he took 17 shots, but I'd up it).

And then I'd go -1 or -2 as everyone suggested. His pe isn't strong enough to shoot that many 3's.

I think if you do those things, I'd bet that from here on out he is a nice player for you.

Thanks for the sugestions guys. Like you said Weena I try to look at what a player shoots minus the 3pt%, but I confess I did not come up with that high of a %. In that case cutting his 3pt attempts to -1 or -2 makes total sense.

Oh, and Al, I have not really liked the job I have done recruiting at Ft. Valley the last couple of season so maybe your idea is not out of the question. Or maybe we can conduct a 1 for 1 trade, I will take some of your guys and you can have some of my guys.

You signed two guys that I wanted this time.  As soon as I identified them as a prime prospect, I saw "considering Ft. Valley" by their name.

I was really taken back..I'm so used to seeing you recruit from the parolee list.

Yeah this season I really liked the guys I got. But my first choice PG was the guy you signed. We were on him together but no way was I about to battle you.
