So
basically I want to play for some cash...I've been in a well run progressive for going on 19 seasons.  I am looking for a progressive that is the ONLY progressive that matters.  Cash prizes, solve the lottery/tanking problems and avoid 6 season rebuilding issues

I was thinking about this, and was wondering if we could get this going.  I would be willing to run the league.  I got some ideas, including one that I have been thinking about for a while and I think is pretty cool and unique.  The concept is taking one different star player from your team each year of the progressive.  After 25 years of the progressive, you would have an Legends Team of 25 players from the span of the progressive.  The 26th season would be a competition of these Legends Teams.

I came up with a short and sweet summary of the league below.  I would be willing to take ideas and suggestions to make it the best progressive out there.  Let me know what you guys think.

25 Year Progressive Challenge
1982-2006

Goal of the league - Have a great group of dedicated owners who want to maintain their team and the progressive.

Reasons to join - Over $1000 in prizes, several objectives to keep owners interested

Objestives -
To put it simply, win as many games as possible.  After the 25 seasons, we will add up the wins.  The owners with the most wins is going to walk away with some prizes.

Win the WS in the last year.  This is to keep owners who aren't in the top of wins something to shoot for.

Win the Legends Team season WS.  This is another goal for owners to shoot for.  A brief explination.  Each year of the progressive you pick one different player from your team to join your Legends roster.  After 25 years, you will have 25 players for your Legends team.  This Legends season will be the 26th year of the progressive.

Prizes - $1068 in prizes.  $20 to join the league.  Hopefully this prevents any one and done teams.  All founding credits and five $50 credits from WIS will go into the prize pool.

Most wins in the 25 years
1st - $350
2nd - $200
3rd - $100
4th - $50
5th - $50
6th - $18

 $150 - Win the WS in 2006

$150 - Win the WS in the Legends season

Anti-tanking - Why would you want to tank, you would only be losing wins from your total.

Rules - Pretty standard one year progressive rules.  DH in AL.  No AAA players.  33 man roster (We will use pick your own AAA players so you can roster your additional 8 players for that year).  Tades of draft picks up to 1 year in advance.  No trading picks in the intial year.  Draft order set at 120 game mark.   40 win minimum.  Lottery for bottom four teams for 1st round picks.

Interesting concept. Could use some more info around the drafts. I can sign up tentatively. Depending on league timing and my availability.

I like the idea, but 25 years is a LONG time in WIS. Might I suggest reducing it to 12 years and taking two players per year, with some sort of bonus player along the lines? And to spice things up, perhaps creating an advantage in the final year for W.S. winners or those highest in cumulative wins, to maintain owners' attention during the year-to-year drudgery. Although I suppose the cash helps.

Agreed that 25 years is a long time.  10-15 would be better as most of the WIS progressives I'm in average about 2.5 seasons per calendar year.  This would then stretch over the course of 4 to 6 years instead of 10 years.  I'd be interested if it was a lower amount of seasons, but 10 real life years is a long time to be married to one progressive.
