Will this player get a demotion penalty? Topic

I just got a 25yr old SS via trade who I plan on using as a starter next season when my current starter's contract expires. We're in the middle of ST and he was on his orig team's big league roster, but he has never played a big league game. If I assign him to AAA, will he possibly get a demotion penalty?

I think so. I think you have to demote them before the rule5 draft, but I'm not sure.

Wait until after ST is over and you get the "opening day" line on the player card.  If you time it right after, you should be able to avoid the demotion penalty.
