Free agent offfers greater than salary budget Topic

I have existing salary and offers out to Free agents that are more than my Salary budget. I do have money from Prospects that I can move to cover it but have not done so. What will happen if I don't move the money? Will they sign and I have to fix it then or will they not sign?  Thanks.

They will not sign unless there's already money in the budget to afford them.

Same thing with a trade. I just had a trade nullified because I signed an FA during the 24 hours review period and forgot to transfer money into my salary budget so there would be enough to cover the payer I was getting.

That's what I would have thought, too, but I just signed both of them. It put me $1.3 million over my Salary budget and I just transferred money from Prospects to cover it.

happend to me before as well signings put me about 8 million over and i had no prospect money to cover it.  left me scrambling
