Type A Free Agent unsigned Topic

A player on my team is a Type A free agent, but nobody signed him during free agency.  I would prefer someone sign him and I get the draft picks, but I would resign him if I don't have a chance at getting free picks.  So my question is, when does he revert to non-type A status?  After the amateur draft?

I think it is a week before the draft, once you can see the prospects.

Status drops once the prospect lists are published.  If you're planning that, don't wait until right after.  If he's a decent player, I guarantee someone will be waiting for the cycle to click.  I made that mistake my first season.  My guy was picked up 1 minute after the cycle.
