Five teams in your last six seasons coached?  No, you shouldn't be able to move.

I have an A loyalty and an A+ rep fwiw, plus I thought 2 straight NTs were gold

Actually, it's five teams in the last seven seasons, but I've gotta agree.  Too much jumping around.

You're kinda right though, before this second season at Virginia Union, it WAS five in the last six, so I see your point.  Still agree, too much jumping around.

Yeah, just going to awesome built teams doesn't prove you can coach.  No Div 1  AD should trust you at all.

Plus, not once has there been even a decent NT finish or RPI, and any success has been with other coaches recruits. Building a less than great D2 team into a winner that has 2 or more seasons in the top10-20 RPI, with Elite 8 or better NT, SHOULD be required. Not saying that's what the algorithm is, but IMO it should be.

And looking at your current team, you've signed several future D2 stars. If you stick with this team for 2-3 more years, you can build a resume that will not just get a D but maybe a D+ or C- DI team. Good luck.

Thank you for the input, but the only reason I was going to stay in Tark was because I thought I was going to D1...I don't like carrying 2 teams, thus I don't really see a point to continue in Tark, so I'll try to see if I can get out I guess.

But if your goal is DI, you should be there in another season. Why would you just quit petualantly with one more season to meet your goal?

Think about who we're talking about here Daalter......

loyalty must be the issue - might take a couple seasons to get it back to say A- - whats the loyalty now?
8/7/2011 3:53 PM
I'm at an A loyalty fwiw...and I'm not being petulant about this, was just really hyped about getting back to D1 and thought there was a chance last season, and was positive that it was happening this season and BAM...I'm just tired of spending time/effort on a team/world that I really don't give a **** about.

Actually the way DI is now I don't know why anyone would want to take over a D prestige school.  You just won't be able to compete.  But if you stick around a few more seasons you might be able to jump to a C school and have a better chance for success.

I'm already at my dream D2 job at Mount Olive in Phelan...I don't like carrying 2 teams for too long, so either I get some differentiation and coach D1 in Tark, or I don't want to be in Tark, especially given the circs....it sucks that I couldn't see that I wouldn't be eligible for D1 because had I known that, I would have left that season in my Phelan bank.

I couldn't possibly disagree with this more.  There are way too many human coaches that have built long-term dynasties in D2 to require somebody trying to move through and up to have multiple ELITE seasons.  That doesn't make sense at all.  Would make D1 even more of a dustbowl than it is now.  Requiring a couple of tournament wins might make sense, but requiring multiple E8s is asking way too much.
