Can it be done?

For example I just took over Colorado in Allen.  Last year, a pretty good PF didn't play more than 5 mpg and quit the team.  Can I offer him a scholarship and will he sign or will I be automatically disqualified.  Anyone have any experience with this super weird scenario?

I believe I tried once, and he wouldn't consider me.  I wish I could be more definitive, but that's all I can remember.  I am curious if anyone has signed their own transfer.

It can't be done. Once he's gone, he's gone.

Bummer.  I'll have to rebuild with freshmen then.

but you can sign a guy that left, then went juco and now is a junior.  Probably doesnt help you though.

I wonder if the situation matters - reinsel is a new coach at the school, the player in question would have transfered and informed the former coach at his school, he has no history with reinsel.  I wonder if the player would hold lack of PT against the school or the coach.

Might be worth a phone call to find out.
