Signing a recruit Topic

What's the minimum amount of effort you need to put in to sign a recruit?  Can you sign one without at least a home visit?

You can sign a guy for $110 - scholarship offer and a promised start.

Thanks, man.  Is it possible without a start (guy's not worth it)?  Would a scouting trip do it?  How about a bunch of phone calls/letters?

By no means is it a guarantee that a guy will sign with you if you give him a scholarship offer and a promised start (it's possible though). With my A prestige D3 team, I've found that 2 home visits and a scholly is almost always enough to get a recruit to consider and sign with you. That said, I'm not sure the amount of phone calls/letters it would take, but I know that around 10-15 scouting visits will usually be enough to pull down a player. Not cost effective, I know.

you can get a guy to sign for a phone call and a schollie - IF he is rather low ranked for your school's prestige - if he basically is grateful to even hear from you

often, those guys are not worth talking to - but with the right potential a guy who is low ranked - for you - now - could be useful

Thanks, guys.  It's worth a shot.
