The XYZ league (est. 1905/1955) is in need of two replacement owners.  The league season ends on August 29 and drafting will begin shortly after.  I'll post the league rules and team rosters.

Any questions, or if you want to claim a team, post here or send me a site mail.

RULES

-$100m cap

-No waiver wire, no DH

-Two below average AAA-pitchers to be used as trade filler only

-Draft followed by an add/drop period

-Must win 30 by 120 to be eligible for 4-team lottery

-Players drafted that year may NOT be dropped or released

-Stadiums exclusive and must be in use during one of the two years being simmed

-No rent-a-player deals allowed

-No in-season trades that would put a team over the $100m payroll allowed

-Draft picks may be traded up to, but no farther than, five seasons in the future

-When an owner’s stadium expires and is no longer eligible for use, the owner must select a new stadium. A list of eligible stadiums will be posted in the draft thread.Prior to the draft owners with expiring stadiums will select, in draft order, a new stadium from that list. Unselected, eligible stadiums will be available to everyone, and may be drafted in lieu of a player or added during the add/drop phase. Eligible stadiums will be treated as ‘dropped,’ and may be added by another owner. To guard against stadium hopping, teams must play in their stadium for a minimum of five seasons, or until the stadium is no longer eligible.

Great league here......  Was the first progressive I joined and sheller does a top-notch A #1 job running it.

How does the add/drop period work, and how do you define a rent-a-player deal?
8/31/2011 2:02 PM

Add/drop - occurs shortly, within hours, of the end of the regular draft and continues until the league is filled.  The only time I've used it has been when I've been over the $100m cap after the draft and needed to get below it, altho I suppose it could come in handy if you draft, say, a better shortstop than the one you already have on roster.  Cut the veteran shortstop and get someone your team can use more.  Only restriction is you can't drop a player drafted during the current draft.

Rent-a-player deal - Hey, my team is going nowhere this season.  Tell ya what - I trade Babe Ruth to you for a 1st rounder on condition you return the Babe to me after the season is over.
That's a rent-a-player deal.  Usually a deal like that is quashed by vetoes, but a one point the majority of league felt it was important to write a provision against it in the rules.

I guess I'll take my progressive league newbiehood to Baltimore.
