Knight DII: Which Conference? Topic

So, I'm interested in moving up to a DII school in Knight (on another id). Anyone care to try selling me on a particular conference?

Come join us in the Northern Sun. There are some good schools available that just need a human to put them over the top. There are also some schools that are complete rebuilds if you like that sort of thing. We are somewhat spread out geographically so there is less chance of battling a conference mate for a recruit.

Heartland Conference baby. W. Alabama is open and they have a decent team.

The up-and-coming conference in DII-Knight is the Central.  We have five very good coaches, but only one in the south at the moment.  The two positions that you should look at are St. Augustine's and Virginia St.    Those schools will immediately compete for a NT spot, with a good recruiting job.

If you wanted to make a name for yourself, then Shaw is in the South as well.  Almost always sim-coached, it will carry 8 seniors next season.  As those teams go it will probably surprise next season, getting a prestige boost leading into a 7-schollie recruiting class (with a 5th year returning).

I'm looking to move up as well.  Some of these schools look very interesting, regardless of their poor prestige!

Penn State Conference is definitely one of the, not only most improved but now, most competitive conferences in D2 Knight. The second strongest conference this season. We had 2 Final Four teams, one more Elite 8 team, and one more Sweet Sixteen team. We had a SIM AI make the tourney first round. After next season, I plan to head over to the worst team in the conference and rebuild them to help the overall conference, and hope that someone will take over my team when I leave.

We have plenty of money from recruiting because of our outstanding season in the post-season. Teams such as: East Stroudsburg, Mansfield, Kutztown, and Millersville are very good teams for SIM AIs and would allow first year coaches to step in and take over a decent team while building a team you like. Come on over, and enjoy the non-stop competition that is the Penn St. Conference

Hmmm. Lots of good options here. I like the idea of joining one of my MIAC conference mates, Weena or Rogelio. But, Heartland and Penn State look like great conferences as well...with lots of extra recruiting money.

Now what would make this decision much easier is if one of you fine gentlemen just decided to relinquish your high prestige team in order to take on a rebuild in your conference. Yes, I know...you've put many seasons of blood, sweat, and tears into your school...but what fun is success when you've already attained it? Doesn't the joy come through the process of rebuilding a team into a powerhouse and just imagining success on the horizon?

At least a couple of us are leaving the Cal CAA, which has been the #1 conference pretty much every year except the last one (Gulf South did work) in Knight for 6-7 seasons now

Pep, I am in the Cal CAA (Alt ID Madpad78) It is a pretty fun conference, very active talkative group. But as DJP said some of us are looking to move up, so some pretty good teams might become available. I was also with Weena in the Northern Sun, some very nice coaches there but minimal chatter on the board.

Pajama, are you planning on moving up this season?

I'm applying for two jobs in the CAA.

Yeah I was going to try. Have an app in for UC San Luis Obispo. I am qualified so I think I will probably get it. If for some reason I don't I will be back in the CAA.

Pep, I changed my mind. I really want to go to DI but I want to get into a decent school, so I am going to stick around the CAA until I qualify for a better job. Come and join us, there are a couple really good schools available.

Drury is still a great option. With the CAA emptying like a sinking ship you might be better in a conference where folks are sticking around for a while. I know I am an x factor, but if you take Drury I'll promise to stick around at least 4 more seasons...

Sonoma State is now open, and you've sure got plenty of time to think it over with the worlds pausing for a couple days. It's in pretty good shape, been an A+ for a couple seasons and had a down year this year with a young team to drop to an A-.
