Ok another question!! Does anyone know how school prestige is calculated? I was told it's all about the NT but I'm inclined to think otherwise after this season. I was at a B prestige when I took my school 2 seasons ago. It dropped from the B+ it had before I got the job. I went back to a B+ after a first round loss in the NT. this season I made it to the 2nd round and I'm still a B+!! what gives?

It's based on several seasons.  Making the 2nd round probably isn't enough to make a difference.

...to make a difference @ B+. if you had a C prestige, it would have gone up.

I thought several seasons was only for D1 schools! I wish they had a better write up on this game! It seems like there's a secret society of coaches who know what's really good.....

read the dev chats - all of which are archived

read the FAQ

read the players guide

read the forums

and then some stuff you only learn by doing

I've read all and a lot of that stuff in the developer chat is years old! Is it still relevant today?

yes, 90% of it is.

Prestige is looked at on a four-season block ... postseason success is the biggest, but also W-L and rpi are factored in, and things like conference championships are as well but in a minor way.

Your school's history is actually remarkably consistent -- first or second round, with 8-12 losses and an rpi between 28 and 44 every season. That would be a B+/A-. Your latest season isn't enough to boost you beyond that.

Support confirmed a few months ago that at D3 prestige is actually a floating value, effectively giving it an infinite window.  But a huge chunk is based on the previous season.

Also, don't forget that prestige is a numeric value expressed as a letter grade. The B+ you have now is a higher B+ than you had before, and for things like recruiting the engine does account for the difference... (another reason to remember in a battle that if you see the other team is a C+ and you are a B-, you could be mere decimals away from actually having the same prestige, so try to account for that...)

Ok that does make me feel better at least. Hopefully this season will pute over the top.
