The world I commish is rolling in 5 days.  I like quick rollovers, so my main strategy  for that is to contact everyone who hasn't re-upped within the last 10-14 days or so to find out if they are returning or not, combined with lining up potential owners before the roll happens.  We have an owner who's been in the world for 12 seasons now, who is regularly checking in, but hasn't responded to my trade chats asking if he's returning or not.  If this guy still hasn't re-upped by rollover day, how much time, if any, should I give before bringing in the replacement?  My feeling is that I don't need to give any, because he's had all season to re-up, and it's really not that difficult to respond to my TC.  Thanks in advance.

By posting here, that's inevitable.

If your 12 season guy can't even respond to a simple trade chat, do you really want to bend over backwards to keep him in your world?

I agree with your last comment . . . he's had all season to re-up.  If you roll and he hasn't renewed, and you have a new owner lined up for the team, then welcome the new guy into your world.

I once waited 24 hours.  The guy contacted me three days later wanting to know why I gave away his team.   I no longer wait unless I've been given a reason to do so.

People have 90 days to git 'er done.  Do it.

In short, your responsibility as commish is to the majority of your owners.   They want to play the game not wait.

have you been the commish all along?

If so, is this guy regularly late in renewing?

If you are a newish commish, I might send a final tc/sitemail explaining very bluntly what your plans are. I prefer sitemail because you can know if he read it or not.

Sometimes I am very busy, and barely have time to check scores/adjust lineups if necessary. I have seen trade chats and simply didn't have time to read them much less reply. He may not be aware that it is a message from the commish.

Maybe that's another suggestion for the other thread, allow commish to have messages delivered directly to the correspondence page, rather than relying on tc which could be any owner soliciting a trade that you have no interest in, and therefore is seemingly unimportant...

Yes, I've been the commish all along.
Yes, this guy always renews late.
I've already sent him a TC explaining that I'm taking a non-response as negatory.  I've also sent him a sitemail.  I should go see if he's read it.

Nope, he hasn't

IMHO a guy who has been committed for 12 seasons deserves the benefit of the doubt. I would not replace him until I had 31 other owners on board, then you've done no disservice to him or the league.

Glad for the responses.  Keep them coming!

Mention his name in the world chat as being non-responsive.  You might even mention the owner looking to take-over his team.

If they haven't renewed by the time the world rolls, I'm replacing them.  You have something like 48 hours to renew after credits are issued.  And don't give me the, "I get paid in 5 days, I'll renew then."  Like it's been said, you've had 90 days to find $25 to renew.  I'm not waiting until you get paid again.
