Declined Scholarship Offer Topic

I have a recruit who is considering me, but declined my initial scholarship offer. There's no notify of redshirt involved. I tried to re-offer another scholarship, and under the recruiting history tab, it has said  "Pending Scholarship Offer" for over 12 hours. The recruit has been considering only me from the start, and continues to be considering only me. The green scholly symbol is there next to his name on my recruiting summary page, but he's not signing for some reason.

Anyone know what the problem might be?

Probably haven't spent enough money yet. Could take a little bit more money or a CV to finally push him over the top.

Then why is he considering me?

Did he start condisering you the same cycle you offered the scholly?    if so then it is probably a timing issue where he sdaw the scholly 1st, declined it, and then accepted any home/campus visits you offered to get him to start considering you.
If thats the case, just re-offer next cycle and he should accept.

if you've offered it and it shows he has a scholarship offer, and he is considering you, he should eventually sign. You haven't by any chance signed enough other recruits to fill your 6 freshmen rule by mistake have you? If not, just wait. DO NOT rescind and re-offer - rescinding a scholarship has negative recruiting effort ramifications, even if re-offered in same cycle (the rescind effect is immediate...)

Yes, he was considering me (and only me) with the initial scolly offer, very first recruiting cycle, even though he declined it. I subsequently re-offered, and he is still  considering me (and only me) ,but it is showing as "Pending scholarship offer" even though 12+ hours have passed, and he still hasn't signed. I'm thoroughly confused. I've never seen anything like this before.

Did you offer a start or minutes and then revoked them?

I think he's holding out hope someone will show him more love. As long as no one else comes along he should sign eventually.

I believe that what you report means that you have done enough to be considered but not enough for him to sign - those are not the same level.

Over time, considering credit could get you over OR over time he may lower his threshold to sign.

OR of course someone could come along with a big effort and take him, since you are just barely on him
