Okay, here’s how the drafting of Free Agent players is going to go:

If your team’s winning percentage is 621 or higher, they get one Free Agent;
If your team’s winning percentage is between 589 and 620, they get two Free Agents;
If your team’s winning percentage is between 553 and 588, they get three Free Agents;
If your team’s winning percentage is 552 or below, they get four Free Agents.

The draft will be started by the team/owner with the lowest winning percentage in each division and wind it’s way up.

There is no reason for any of these short drafts to be held up by anyone for any reason (barring emergencies) so I’m instituting a 24-hour rule. Once the draft begins, any owner who takes longer than 24 hours to make a pick can be skipped. Since we’re doing these drafts in “thejuice6’s Theme League Draft Forum”, sending someone a proxy should be a piece of cake. Again, if you can’t make your pick on time, send someone a proxy.

The Teams/Owners involved in this draft are:

1924-1925: Washington Senators 610 (FUNGOES)
1924-1925: Pittsburgh Pirates 601 (MSHEAF1)
1924-1925: New York Giants 581 (TIGERS'84)
1924-1925: Detroit Tigers 542 (CALHOOP)

1924-1925:  St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Braves, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Brooklyn Robins, Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Browns, Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Athletics

I was about to hit send and then changed my mind.  I need pitching more than I need hitting:

Dolf Luque - P (1925)

And I'm sure that I need pitching more than anybody else does but that's just going to have to suffer:

1925 Rogers Hornsby - 2b             Cardinals

But calhoop can your club house survive two Rodgers? I am sure you should have let me have one.

I was "this close" to hitting send with Rogers Hornsby - 1925 in this post box.  Kind of a pretty good OPS that year.  I may live to regret it when I send Bucky Harris out to 2nd base every day.  Oh well.

Meanwhile, an extra 300ish innings split between a couple of Earl Whitehills and Lil Stoner should generate a lot of offense for the opponents.  Should be fun to see all the yellow ink in the play-by=plays

There were definitely a lot of "high profile" Free Agents available in this draft...

1924 Eppa Rixey (Reds)

Calhoop has his Hornsby's so I'll have my Dazzy's.

Dazzy Vance 1925 Brooklyn

Well, since the good pitchers have been taken, it comes down to a decision between two of the great outfielders of all time or one of the great infielder if I think that Roger Pekinpaugh is just not tolerable.  But I just love this guys so I will go with:

Al Simmons - OF (1925)
10/6/2011 3:45 PM
1925 Pete Donohue - P               Cincinnati Reds
10/6/2011 4:10 PM
1925 Herb Pennock (Yankees)
